Thank you for allowing us to show you our malamute family. I feel you will find them to be beautiful and unique.
I spent over 50 years breeding wolves and Alaskan Malamutes.
I now focus on AKC Alaskan Malamutes but my years with wolves taught me a lot.
I can see a lot of wolf-like traits in malamutes.
Wolves were by their nature very shy and timid " wild-like". We socialized their wolf pups to where you could take them in public.
Because Malamutes are so closely related to wolves, I had thought about raising Malamutes. But my hands were full with the wolves. You can see some of our past wolves by clicking on the WOLF HISTORY page at the bottom of this page.
I searched the country to find a variety of malamutes that had that special look. I did not buy one just because it was a malamute. As you can see on the website, we have been blessed.
Being that malamutes have wolf in them, they do have to be socialized, but not to the degree that wolves do.
Our pups are not kennel-raised pups. They are born in a special building that is climate-controlled and the pups have big TVs next to them for a lot of sound and activity. I sleep with them when they are born to help their mom at birth. Our pups have weeks of hands-on socializing. It makes a tremendous difference in the temperament of the animal. What is done to them in their first eight weeks can give them a much better start that stays with them all their life.
We only have a few litters a year so I can give the the individual attention they need.
You will also notice our Malamutes are very people-friendly. On our testimonial page, you will see our babies in their family homes all over the country. You can do that by going to the bottom of the page and clicking on the word "TESTIMONES".
